John Cochran is pursuing a BFA with a major in Drawing and Painting at the University of North Texas in the Studio Art program. At UNT he has studied under many great local artists and teachers including Vincent Falsetto and Trey Egan. Vincent Falsetta’s artwork is in the permanent collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Houston Museum of Fine Art, El Paso Museum of Art, Tyler Museum of Art, Utah Museum of Fine Arts, and was a finalist for the Hunting Art Prize in 2007. Previously at Richland College, he studied under Tom Motley and was one of two students chosen to exhibit his work alongside Professor Motley’s in the end of term Teacher/Student Art Show. In 2015 he participated in an Advanced Painting Workshop with Roger Winter. He was also a featured artist in the Oak Cliff Fine Art Society “Rising Star” exhibit in the fall of 2015. His paintings and sculptures have been very well received and although still a student, his work is already being acquired by collectors in Texas and Louisiana.
